A Journey of Kincentric Grace in Guatemala

We invite you to walk with us. Together, let us foster a spirit of mutual respect and shared purpose, nurturing the sacred interconnectedness of all life.

Your Journey of Connection and Care

Over eight days, we will engage in "practical, life-giving responses" to local needs, focusing on restoring ecosystems, supporting health, and advocating for the vulnerable.

The Highland Support Project (HSP) invites you to join for a transformative week in Guatemala, where we will move beyond traditional service to embody Kincentric Grace. This journey is an invitation to recognize that we are part of a sacred web of relationships—between humans, animals, plants, and the earth itself.

As Earthkeepers, we believe our ministry is not about imposing solutions from the outside. Instead, it is about listening, learning, and walking alongside our neighbors. This trip is designed to be a practical expression of that belief. We will partner with Indigenous communities to address the world’s challenges—climate change, social inequality, and cultural disconnection—through collaboration, humility, and a shared commitment to the flourishing of all life.

  • San Juan La Laguna & Chuicutama

We begin by grounding ourselves in the local context. After arriving in San Juan La Laguna, we will visit the La Voz Coffee Cooperative to understand sustainable agriculture in practice. We then travel to Chuicutama, where we will participate in a conference on the Mayan Worldview and Medicine. This is our time to listen and learn, opening our hearts to the deep cultural and spiritual insights of our hosts.

  • Community Service
At the heart of our trip is the call to extend grace through acts of care. We will spend two days working alongside families to build fuel-efficient stoves. This is not just construction; it is a direct response to health and environmental crises, reducing firewood consumption and improving respiratory health for women and children. In the evenings, we will deepen our connection through cultural exchanges, including a weaving demonstration and presentations from the Asociación de Mujeres del Altiplano (AMA).

  • Reforestation and Education
Recognizing our interconnectedness with the land, we will dedicate a day to ecological restoration. We will start with an early morning walk through a reforested cloud forest in Chuicutama to observe and listen to native trees and birds. Then we will engage with the Maya Art Program in a "La Milpa" activity, learning about the "Three Sisters" crops that support food sovereignty. Later, we will get our hands in the dirt for a reforestation project, actively participating in the healing of the ecosystem.

  • Xela, Iximche & Antigua
Our final days focus on strengthening our partnerships and reflecting on our shared purpose. We will visit our partners at AMA in Xela and find renewal in local hot springs. Before returning home, we will visit the sacred archaeological site of Iximche, honoring the history of the land.

Kincentric Grace: Earthkeepers Ministry

Faith and the Sacred Web of Life

Kincentric Grace is the beautiful intersection where our faith meets the soil. It is the understanding that we are not separate from the earth, but part of a sacred web of relationships with all living beings. By combining the Indigenous wisdom of interconnectedness with the Christian call to stewardship, we recognize that caring for creation is an act of worship. It invites us to see nature not as a resource to be used, but as a neighbor to be loved and protected.

Grace as a Path to Healing

In a world facing climate change and social division, this perspective offers a path toward true healing. We believe that God’s grace isn’t just for humans; it is a gift meant to restore the entire world to a state of Shalom—deep, holistic peace. Rather than focusing on failures, Kincentric Grace empowers us to participate in the renewal of the earth, mending broken relationships between people, communities, and the land itself

Collaboration with Indigenous Wisdom

We don’t do this work alone or with all the answers. Instead, we walk humbly alongside Indigenous communities, listening to and learning from those who have lived in harmony with creation for generations. By co-creating solutions that honor traditional knowledge—like sustainable agriculture and ecosystem restoration—we address today’s crises with wisdom and respect. This collaboration allows us to move beyond imposing solutions to fostering genuine, shared flourishing.

An Invitation to Act

We invite you to be part of this life-giving movement. Participating in Kincentric Grace means more than just agreeing with an idea; it means getting your hands dirty in the work of restoration. Whether it is through planting trees, supporting food sovereignty, or advocating for vulnerable communities, you are living out the Gospel in a tangible way. Join us as we embody hope, cultivate compassion, and work together to bring renewal to God’s creation.
